Microsoft Excel (developed by Microsoft): Excel is a well-known spreadsheet software, packaged as part of Microsoft Office. Since each student team member had a different version of the software, we interchangeably used Excel 2003 and 2007 for PCs and Excel 2008 for Macs. For this challenge, we particularly made use of the macro capabilities of Excel.
SnagIt (developed by TechSmith, a company based in Okemos, Michigan; SnagIt was first released in 1991): SnagIt is a image/video capture program that allows for some basic editing on computer screen captures. For this challenge, we used the free 30-day trial version of SnagIt. Specifically, we utilized its video capture options to capture our visualizations.
